Printing practice & printing with new materials.

Seminars

To achieve good printing results, extensive experience is needed. In the two-day seminar, you will learn and practice under the guidance of a 3D printing expert how to improve your print results. Sometimes it’s about calibration, sometimes the settings don’t fit the object, leading to unsatisfactory results. The specific requirements of the seminar participants will be addressed.

Target Audience

Users who already have some experience with FFF 3D printers and want to familiarize themselves with the latest materials and improve their printing results.

Prerequisites

Basic experience in 3D printing.

The filament used in the course is included in the seminar price.

Duration

2 days

at the competence center for 3D printing technologies in Ried im Traunkreis or on-site

Day 1

Theory and Calibration

  • Basic settings and calibration of the frame, axes, drive, print bed, extruder, and electronics.
  • Calibration of the firmware using test print objects.
  • Optimizing print performance during operation.
  • Proper design of the 3D model for FFF 3D printing.
  • Overview and importance of parameters in Simplify3D.
  • Correct settings in Simplify3D for small, large, delicate objects, overhangs, and undercut parts.
  • Selecting the right nozzle diameter for the appropriate print object.
  • Structure of G-code.
  • Manual modification of the G-code file to improve or change print results.
  • Printing objects with support material made of PLA or ABS.
  • Additional tips and tricks from a professional.

Day 2

Printing Practice

  • Detailed print settings in Simplify3D
  • During the theoretical part, participants will also print parts using various materials
  • such as PLA, ABS, carbon filament, HIPS, and filled filaments.
  • The goal is to gain printing experience with new materials and explore their application areas, as well as their advantages and disadvantages.
  • In addition to basic knowledge of the materials, necessary software know-how will also be provided to improve print results.
